Will I need a new TV and TV wall brackets to get YouView?

If you have heard about the new digital TV services available from next year, you may be wondering what you’ll have to do in order to benefit from all that YouView offers.

The answer should be a relief to most people who already have a flat screen television that provides them with digital pictures. With most of the content being available in high definition, this would be a bonus too. As long as your TV is capable of receiving digital signals then you will be OK as you are.

And if you have TV wall brackets in place holding up this slimline TV then you won’t need to replace these either. All you will need to do is go out and purchase the YouView set-top box and access to broadband internet. You will be pleased to know that you won’t have to sign a contract or carry out a monthly subscription to use these services.

Getting a box is quite simple as they will be sold in all the high street shops as well as across the internet. It may even be included with broadband packages from an internet service provider.

Once your aerial or satellite equipment is plugged into the box and connected to the TV as well as the internet, you will have access to a whole new world of digital TV viewing possibilities. If you don’t have internet capabilities, it basically acts as a Freeview box.

YouView is set to launch early 2012, so stay tuned for the latest developments.
