Users looking for wide angle viewing from their TV brackets

A recent study in the US carried out by CBS Vision for technology firm 3M has shown that high brightness and quality are at the top of the list for consumers whatever angle they watch their LCD televisions from.

The research looked at how televisions are used for gaming and web connectivity as well as TV viewing, the needs of consumers is becoming far more demanding.

Americans expect their LCD TVs to become central to their entertainment requirements as they view them from a number of different angles. Despite moving around into different positions in the room, users still wish to see a crisp and consistently bright image from their unit.

Older viewers from the 600 people questioned were especially concerned with wide-angle viewing, which was crucial to their overall experience.

Chief research officer, CBS Corporation and president, CBS Vision, David Poltrack, said:

“We were pleased to team up with 3M to take a closer look at the fundamentals surrounding consumers’ LCD television viewing experience.

“We learned that consumers don’t always realize that the way they watch their LCD TV impacts the quality of what they see.”

Physicist at 3M, Dave Lamb, who was also the scientific adviser, explained how the study was aimed at understanding how important wide-angle luminance was to consumers.

If you want to be able to see the screen properly when watching television, mounting the unit on the wall using TV brackets can help you to find the best angle. Flexible wall mounts can be moved into position accordingly.

Findings on the YouGov survey on TVs for TV brackets

YouGov research into tech products including tablet PCs and TVs has indicated that Smart TV is not on people’s wish lists just yet, but that in the near future this might change.

This is because they found that the biggest factor that would make consumers go out and buy one of these connected TVs is the content available for it. With lots of things in the pipeline for 2012, it is certainly looking more promising.

It was revealed that 36 per cent of the 18-24 year-olds questioned in the UK survey explained that they would get one of these TVs if their favourite TV programmes were available to them on-demand.

Social TV is another issue that is bound to affect the sale of connected TVs as users can make use of services like Twitter and Facebook.

Dan Brilot, media consulting director at YouGov, said:

“Smart content producers must continue to develop their services to make it increasingly easier for people to watch what they want, when they want, wherever they want.

“This next evolution of our TV sets is enabling viewers to share and comment on media content using Facebook and Twitter, or even to set up ‘virtual living rooms’ where programmes are watched at the same time between friends but at different locations with social networks enabling the sharing of the viewing experience.”

For all this to happen, you will need to have a Smart TV with access to the internet. Whatever type of flat panel television you own at present, it is always advisable to place it on TV brackets.

A recent report has confirmed what many people now know already, that the British have really embraced the opportunity to purchase their goods through the internet, rather than having to traipse round the shops every time they are in need of something.

The latest International Communications Market has found that the UK is a nation of online shoppers, with more people buying online here than those living in any other major country.

It was revealed that 79 per cent of web users had experienced buying at least one item online, with 90 per cent having looked at shopping websites and browsing their product offerings.

This comes at a time when Ofcom have already found that the number of smartphone owners in the UK has nearly doubled between February of last year and this August. Many users like to shop using their phones and browse the internet using these devices.

The report also kept up with recent trends of people watching TV online through the BBC iPlayer and other popular services.

TV viewing as a whole experienced an increase last year, with the average individual likely to spend a little more than four hours watching television each day.

These findings just go to show that online shopping is the way to go if you want to get the best bargains on things like TV brackets to improve your TV viewing. These devices are perfect for mounting your flat screen TV, so you can enjoy the television as it was meant to be watched.

With the severe weather we have been having this weekend you would have been forgiven for staying indoors rather than deciding to go Christmas shopping or anything else for that matter.

Icy conditions have been affecting much of Britain over the past few days with high winds and storms experienced in some areas on the south coast of England.

With the Met Office predicting snow and freezing temperatures for the near future at least, it is no wonder then that people do not want to have to battle with the elements in order to go about their daily lives.

Instead of braving the high winds and heavy rain or snow, it means that most people, including those with children, will be looking to find their entertainment indoors.

Watching television and playing computer games is a favourite pastime for many people, so if you are one of those that likes to while away a few hours in front of the box where it is warm you might wish to consider wall mounting your TV set.

By putting the device on the wall using accessories called TV wall brackets, you can see the screen much more clearly wherever in the room you are seated.

So, with Christmas fast approaching and the bad weather set to continue, for the time being at least, you really need to consider whether going outside is absolutely necessary. At least you have something to do with the various entertainment options available to you at this time of year.

Having taken on all comers in the smartphone and music industries it seems like Apple is now trying to design a TV that will understand you as you talk and motion towards it.

It has been reported that the company is about to start production of a hi-tech “iTV” set. Japanese manufacturers Sharp are already said to be ready to begin making these devices later next year.

What it means for competitors who are still working on their internet-connected TV products we’ll have to wait and see but it seems like the industry will be taking note of this new development.

Peter Misek, analyst at the American bank Jefferies, said:

“Other TV manufacturers have begun a scrambling search to identify what iTV will be and do.

“They hope to avoid the fate of other industries and manufacturers who were caught flat-footed by Apple.”

With their cloud services in full flow, Apple is bound to ensure that their new products will link seamlessly to this and take interactivity to a whole new level.

Pay-TV operators like Virgin Media and BskyB will also be keeping an eye on things as this may affect their standing in the market.

Whatever happens, it won’t impact on the widespread usage of TV wall brackets which can be found in homes up and down the country. Wall-mounting your TV set is perfect for the modern minimalist house and gives viewers the best possible means of enjoying their entertainment however it is delivered by the likes of Apple, Samsung and Sony.

It has recently been revealed that the Brits have come out tops in terms of TV production at the International Emmys held in New York.

Five awards were won by British TV productions at the 39th Annual International Emmy Awards which took place at the Holton New York Hotel on 21 November.

This may have been a surprise but just goes to show that we can still make top shows which are as good as the American equivalents.

With BBC One claiming the best drama series gong with Accused and Julie Walters being awarded with the best actress prize, it was certainly a good night all round for British entertainment.

So if you have just got your Freeview box and aren’t really anticipating upgrading to Sky or Virgin Media in the near future, you can do so knowing that the content you can watch on terrestrial channels can often be up to the same standard (if not better) than that you get from the dedicated overseas channels.

When you wall-mount your flat panel TV, you can do so in the knowledge that you will be able to enjoy your TV viewing experience to the max. Be sure to position the screen so that it is at the best angle.

It is always important to check the TV bracket is in place and the TV screen is perfect as then you can simply sit back in your comfy chair and watch your favourite British-made dramas and other high quality entertainment which is on offer on Freeview.

Demand for TVs and TV wall brackets set to increase in 2012

We have recently been discussing how the flat screen TV market is currently experiencing a period of growth, as reported by market researchers DisplaySearch.

In analysing these findings, Noh Geun-chang, a senior analyst at Korean securities and financial services provider HMC Securities, has explained how he expects this higher growth rate should hopefully continue into next year.

He said:

“There are two factors that contribute to the jump. We have the London Olympic sports event and the time will come for those who purchased their flat-screen panel TVs in 2004 to go out in the market for an exchange.”

The electronics market should be boosted by a huge event such as this which means that those sports fans who wish to watch the various competitions in full HD will be after a new flat panel TV for their home.

In addition to this, many householders with older models may be thinking it is time for an upgrade, so could also enter the market to buy a new TV.

As you go about checking out the latest flat screen TVs in preparation for your big purchase, don’t forget your TV wall brackets. These accessories are also increasing in popularity and are now the preferred method of placing a TV set.

With TV wall brackets you can mount your LCD or plasma TV flat against the wall, or choose a pull out type that gives you more movement and flexibility. You can select your TV mount according to the screen size of the television you finally go for.

Global flat panel TV sales on the rise in latest TV brackets news

A recent report by a leading market research and consulting firm has revealed that the sales of flat screen TVs is greater than at the same point last year, with this set to continue as we approach the festive season.

A total of 55.68 million plasma and liquid-crystal displays were sold across the world between July and September of this year. This is 10 per cent up on the figures for the same period in 2010, so it shows that sales are still very much on the rise.

The report showed that Korean electronics brands Samsung and LG are currently leading their Japanese rivals in terms of units sold during the third quarter of 2011, with Sony trailing behind.

When it came to light-emitting diode products, the two Korean manufacturers also outperformed the competition in terms of market share.

It was also found that 6.85 million 3D TV units were sold during the third quarter, a rise of 40 per cent on the previous quarter’s results. Although the latest technology is going well, it still only accounts for 12 per cent of the global television market –with Samsung and LG again coming out tops with the lion’s share of the market.

If you are hoping to buy a new flat panel TV this Christmas then there is certainly plenty of choice out there. Be careful though when it comes to mounting your new purchase as you also need to give high consideration to the TV brackets you finally opt for.
