T260hd and T260hd mount review

The T260HD is streets ahead of the T220hd but it has the same aspirations at heart. It looks like a television, but it’s actually a high-resolution computer display. It also has a good range of inputs, and is 1080p too. The T260HD is the thirty year old version of its infant self. But it hasn’t learned all of its lessons well. It’s still a much better computer than TV.

These is perfect for those with space challenges who need a computer display and TV. It is a 26-inch display that runs at a resolution of 1920×1200. This has TV-friendly inputs.

It has a good PC res (or 1080p viewing) and with these inputs (15-pin D-sub, DVI-D, two HDMI ports, component, as well as a DTV Tuner) it’s a good all rounder.

Given that its market is students and those with space issues, we’d recommend a cantilever to help you manouevre it into the trickiest and tiniest of spaces and places.

What to choose as a T220HD mount

This is a great all rounder. The T220HD is both a television and computer monitor. With a compact 22 inch screen this is a great addition to any bedroom. The res is 1,680 x 1,050 and so is unable to deliver Full HD signals, but what it lacks here it makes up for in its truly bargain price.

You also get all of this: DVI, audio, VGA and power cables (minus an HDMI cable unfortunately). Because this is both a TV and a computer, we recommend something that works for a computer and works in bedrooms.

This is a good value for money machine, and which has the right aspirations in life. The 22-inch LG Flatron M228WD is practical, and wants to deliver in both the TV and computer display arenas; why more manufacturers don’t put tuners into computer screens, we’re not sure.

The LG M228WD is pretty and comes with analogue and digital TV tuners; you just switch over when you want to. The same applies to PC mode too.

The M228WD has a native resolution of 1,920×1,200 pixels, and runs just over 1080p: all very good for such a small screen size and price tag.

Despite trying to be a jack of all trades it succeeds on image quality in PC mode, although to call it a master would be a step too far. It has contrast ratio of 2,000:1: high for a computer screen.

It comes with lots of input options (HDMI, D-Sub, Scart, component and RF) and ticks the games console, DVD player and VHS recorder boxes.
