In analysing these findings, Noh Geun-chang, a senior analyst at Korean securities and financial services provider HMC Securities, has explained how he expects this higher growth rate should hopefully continue into next year.
He said:
“There are two factors that contribute to the jump. We have the London Olympic sports event and the time will come for those who purchased their flat-screen panel TVs in 2004 to go out in the market for an exchange.”
The electronics market should be boosted by a huge event such as this which means that those sports fans who wish to watch the various competitions in full HD will be after a new flat panel TV for their home.
